What to do in Vanuatu

Did you know that in Vanuatu, a small country in the South Pacific, there is an underwater post office? Yes, you heard that right! But there is much more to discover in this tropical paradise, let's go on this trip together?

Vanuatu is an archipelago made up of more than 80 islands, with a rich and varied culture. Originally inhabited by Melanesian people, the country has a fascinating history, which includes joint colonization by the French and British.

The five must-see places are: Port Vila, the capital and cultural center of the country; the island of Espiritu Santo, with its paradisiacal beaches; the active volcano Yasur on the island of Tanna; the traditional village of Yakel; and the mysterious island of Pentecost, famous for its vine jumping rituals.

Vanuatu's currency is Vatu, and although the official language is Bislama, an English-based form of pidgin, English and French are also spoken. For us Brazilians, a visa is necessary and can be obtained upon arrival in the country.

Vanuatu's socioeconomic situation is based on agriculture, fishing and tourism. Politically and economically, it is a stable parliamentary republic, although it faces challenges in terms of economic development and infrastructure.

As for costs, Vanuatu is relatively affordable. Quality accommodation and delicious meals can be found at reasonable prices, with daily spending between 30 and 50 dollars.

Now, let's return to the curiosity of the title. The underwater post office really exists! It's located on Hideaway Island and allows you to send waterproof postcards anywhere in the world, all while diving among colorful fish and coral.
